New pricing/policy for Void Sims

Jack Linden told us that:

  • " Openspace prices and fees change on the 1st January with no grandfathering.

  • Class 4 Openspaces will be upgraded to class 5 in January.

  • Educator discount is no longer available for Openspaces.

  • No Owner switching for Openspaces unless it’s a full transfer of Payor.

  • More proactive education by support staff to prevent unfair resource use by Openspace regions."

So... From 1 January 2009 they will change upfront fees for void sims. We can expect an increase of 50% with monthly fees rising by 66%. (US$250 upfront and US$75/mo today). The new fees from 1 January will be US$375 upfront and US$125/mo. Owners with groups of four void simulators will have those groups migrated to class 5 servers at that time.

What do you guys think? are they Penalizing everyone for a few users overloading? or is a good way to deal with shrewd rip-off artists selling openspace parcels only for the newbies that unaware of the scam...???

Re: New pricing/policy for Void Sims

I have to bite my tongue here a little bit but the Lindens are a tad annoyed that people have abused the use of Openspaces so are doing something about it.

It only takes a few to spoil the for the rest of us and to be frank you should be having ago at those people in world not the Lindens.

There is no scam involved here at all!

The one and only Luther, ask them at Sub Zero they'll tell you.
