I told Luther I was not going to get into an "Americans vs. English" argument, so I will just let this speak for itself:

Nah, I have multi-purpose ones installed by my landlord, and have actually been clever enough to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Fingers crossed, I'll never have to use them, but if I did, I'm not going to tempt fate by ignoring a series of instructions which have stared me in the face every day for months on end. Meh, Metro reports a lot of funny or inconsequential stories. As much as a part of me could believe this might come out of a British council, it's the sort of thing which also gets shouted down quite quickly. |

It's ok Luther. We have equally silly groups in the U.S.
They're called "homeowners associations". ;) |

Ah, our wonderful councils who seam to be a law unto themselves.
I pay a council tax for this privilage, lol. This silliness in local government is not isolated to the Unitied Kingdom only as there was one Local Council in New Zealand which banned people from throwing snowballs, lol. One last point the British press at the moment are very prome to print stories before actually validating the facts, lol. |
