A question about switching profession

I have engineering and mining as professions. I kind of like engineering for my paladin since it gives me access to grenades and other explosives that I can use to pull/stun mobs with. It also gives some nice headgears later on in the game. My dilemma however is that I really would like to get the nice maces the Blacksmithing profession gives. So my question to anyone that knows would be if it's possible to skip mining later on and go for Engineering and Blacksmithing? I know this will mean that I have to buy all the resources I need and I guess this might cost me quite a bit of gold but I think it might be worth it since Blacksmithing offers the second best mace for a retribution paladin the game has to offer.

I would go engineering / mining and when you hit 70 drop mining and use the gathered resources to lvl up blacksmithing and what you miss you buy on the AH.

hmmz, Yeah the mace is really nice, but remember that engineering aswell offers you a GREAT helm, a helm within t5-t6 stats which is easy obtained, and maces are gainable through honor / arena pts which are aswell very good. (Season 4 you can buy Merciless mace for honor).

Ofcourse it's possible to have both, but then your economics will be based on Daily quests, which is good but not quite as funny :).

Yeah, doing dailies as a prime income is something I'm quite used to on my main and I do agree that it isn't that much fun :P

I think I'm gonna give BS a shot together with Eng though and we'll see how poor I get in the process :) I heard (through Silanah) that leveling BS costs somewhere around 3k gold so I guess I might as well start saving up now.

Btw Clicker; what eng helm were you refering to?
