Way back in the Ages Of Myth, when men were men, women were also men, and dogs were men too (Don't Ask) I began this blog with a promise that I'd lend the Empyrean Age book to a non-player and ask them for their opinion, and that I'd share the result here.
Well, she finally gave it back to me, having only read to about a third through.... four times. Given that this is someone who genuinely loves to read, I think we can probably count that as a statement in its own right.
From further probing, it turns out that she reckons the book was inacessible, but added the caveat that she doesn't really read sci-fi anyway.
I'm not sure if that means that TonyG failed to write a book that was accessible to non-players, or if I failed to pick an appropriate test subject. Maybe a bit of both? Whatever, I've got the book back now, and I intend to re-read it.
In other news, Fanfest is only three weeks away, and counting. Tomorrow, I convert my money into ISK (the real Icelandic ones, not the in-game ones). Given how messy the Icelandic economy is right now, I should get a great exchange rate - lots of Fanfest memorabilia FTW!
Recommendations as to exactly WHAT I should get memorabilia-wise gladly accepted.

Been thinking of doing a book exchange myself, read the Warhammer 40k novels my boyfriend had laying around and let him have a read at the EVE novel and see what insight that gives.
Will you be writing a blog post and maybe even posting pictures about fanfest for those like me who can't attend? |
